one fit onto one page. Introduction Political correctness and the desire to achieve that state to a greater degree dictates that we make
no distinction between races or ethnic groups, particularly those who consistently have been recognized as being an "underclass" for years despite the best efforts on many fronts to change the
situation. The fact remains, however, that there are some characteristics specific to the races across the entire country. Local manifestation may be to a greater or lesser degree,
but typically national averages and demographic data holds true. The purpose here is to compare race and income data as it applies to national crime rates. Denials Slow Demise
We have spent years - decades - claiming there is no difference between races, that existing disparities exist because white people oppress the
black. When sociologists turned their attention to black / white variants in crime rates to find that blacks were overwhelmingly overrepresented in the judicial system and in correctional facilities,
there were many plausible and nearly-plausible reasons promoted, accepted and defended. These reasons ranged from lack of economic opportunity to lack of educational opportunity to lack of stable family
structure to the ubiquitous bad guy, "society." It was only a number of years later that we began admitting that there is a
cultural divide between blacks and whites, a fact that we tried to ignore when striving to make everyone the same color, at least politically and economically. The question in
the beginning was what to do about it; finally we were able to realize that there is no inherent evil in cultural differences, that there are only differences.
