Creativity is the ability to do something that is different, for example, artists who paint. Thus, creativity "is any act, idea, or product that changes an existing domain, or that
transforms an existing domain into a new one" (California State University, Northridge, 2006). Very often, people think of creativity only in terms of artists but as we can see from
the definitions, creativity covers a broad range of venues. Some people are especially creative in solving problems because they consider ides that are unique to the activity. It could be
an act or a thought. In either case, it is different and novel. Creative people view things differently. Lau and Chan (n.d.) suggest there are three principles regarding creativity: first,
it is a new idea about something; second, the new ideas are useful, they are purposeful, and third, the creative person is able to see or find connections between different
ideas. Creativity is not just about generating new ideas, the ideas have a purpose (National Creativity in Action, 2006), they intend to do something. In some ways, children are more
creative than adults. We often hear comments about how active a childs imagination is (Jalongo, 2003). The fact is a childs brain is more active, their brains have more theta
activity than the adults brain (Jalongo, 2003). Theta waves are those that are active during the time "between being awake and falling asleep" (Jalongo, 2003, p. 218). Theta waves are
described as being "more relaxed, freewheeling, and receptive to fleeting mental images" (Jalongo, 2003, p. 218). This allows children to formulate unusual images and ideas (Jalongo, 2003). One expert refers
to this condition as "germinal creativity" (Jalongo, 2003, p. 218). On the other hand, adults have more experience, which allows them to draw "upon experience" (Jalongo, 2003, p. 218). They
