they will be learning will have to do with school, and not with events, experiences, and people they meet. Living in a new environment with people that are very different
from ones hometown can often be a very important eye opening experience. The following paper offers the student requesting the paper a tutorial look at what could be learned from
a classmate who is from a different culture and background. Cultural Experience Living in the United States in a fairly middle class community, for example, will often limit
the understanding a young adult has about the world around them. This is the case with perhaps living in any given sort of neighborhood or in any given cultural community.
However, when an individual becomes a legal adult and goes off to college many preconceived notions are destroyed as the world is wide and full of diversity. As such the
environment of college can surely teach an individual more than they thought. They arrive at college assuming they will learn about specific subjects and instead truly begin to learn about
humanity and people as individuals, not census readings. For a young man from a specific sort of environment, in this case we are assuming they are from a middle class
or upper middle class white community, coming contact with people from all forms of society can be a very frightening but also very enlightening experience. For all intents and purposes
we can imagine that such a young man meets another young man from Nigeria. With a middle class understanding of the black community and of Africa in general, to truly
meet a Nigerian individual would be a potentially enlightening experience. For one thing, such a young man would learn, upon visiting his new friend, that his friend offers him
