a few of my friends were invited to a bash that was being held at a fraternity house that was located just off-campus, they asked me to tag along with
them. I agreed, even though all I knew about college parties was based entirely on what I had seen in National Lampoons Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds.
No wonder I was so apprehensive, in anticipation of seeing half-naked people running around in sheet togas or a fat guy spewing food out of his mouth.
When party night arrived, I must admit to having more than my share of butterflies. My friends kidded me about it, thinking Id relax if they told me Bluto
wouldnt be in attendance since John Belushi had been dead for more than 20 years. As we approached the frat house, I could literally feel the music from my
head down to my toes, as the sidewalk appeared to be vibrating along with the pulsating bass guitar riffs. The door opened, and a friendly guy clutching a beer
announced, "Entr?e and enjoy!" I took a quick glance around the room and heaved a sigh of relief after seeing no one wearing togas. The people were casually
dressed, some in conversation and some simply listening to the hip-hop sounds of Shaggys "Angel" and Nellys "Hot in Herre." Shortly after our arrival, several more people arrived, and
soon what seemed like a relatively large living room was suddenly a sea of bodies. Just when I thought the music couldnt possibly get any louder, somebody cranked it
up a few more decibels. Then, people started to dance, and when I heard the Pink song, "Get the Party Started," I knew the action would be heating up.
