"Origin of the Species" people have been torn apart in regard to the question of where they came from. Subsequent discoveries in biology, geology, and astronomy have served to
further confuse the masses in regard to this question. Scientists seem intent on proving that there was no divine power involved in the creation of life yet all of
our religions tell us just the opposite. The message that science is so intent on delivering has the potential to phenomenally
affect the world. According to Dorson, after all, there are over five thousand "primitive, folk, and civilized religions in the world today (Dorson 218). In reality, there are
probably many more faith systems which just havent received the recognition necessary to include them in this number. Regardless of the actual number of systems which exist around the
world, each of these faith systems incorporates its own prescription of how they are to relate to the supernatural forces around them and just how these forces intervened to place
mankind on earth. The contention that there was, in fact, no such intervention is of obvious concern to the majority of the worlds population.
Even the so-called primitive religions of the indigenous peoples of the earth proclaim that God created man. The Christian religion certainly makes this contention. In the
book of Genesis we are told quite clearly that God created the sky, the earth, and all of the living creatures. The time frame that is given is quite
clear as well. Genesis tells us that all of this occurred over a six day period and on the seventh day God rested. The problem that presents itself,
