God creates woman and certainly, this must be included in the story of creation. One important word to understand is the verb create. This means "made out of nothing" (Wesley).
Wesley comments that "the fish and fowl were indeed produced out of the waters, and the beasts and man out of the earth; but that earth and those waters were
made out of nothing" (1765). Genesis 1 reports each of the things God created on each of six days. 1) God first creates the heavens and the earth, then, 2)
light, separating day and night; 3) the sky; 4) land and seas; 5) vegetation, seed-bearing plants and trees; the sun, moon and stars; 6) living creatures of all kinds and
then, man in "our image, in our likeness" (Genesis 1:26) and ordered man would rule over everything He had created (Genesis 1:26, 28, 29). On Days 1 and 2, God
created different realms that are formless, He then creates things that have form and structure (Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church). Commentators point out the meaning of man being created
on the last day (Wesley; Jamieson). Only after all other things are created is man created to rule over everything (Wesley). Jamieson comments that Gods words "show the peculiar importance
of the work to be don, the formation of a creature" (1871). The creature is to be Gods representative who has the authority over all things in the world (Jamieson).
The importance of man is also found in Gods words ""Let us make man in our image, in our likeness" (Genesis 1:26). The fact that the concept is repeated, "in
