live in Los Angeles. A chain of events begins with a car jacking of an affluent young couple, Rick and Jean. Two police officer, Ryan and Hanson, get the alert
to watch for two young black men in the car-jacked black SUV. Even though the plates do not match, Ryan insists on pulling over a black SUV and he harasses
the young couple in the car, Cameron and Christine, even going so far as to frisk Christine, slowly and in an offensive manner. Hanson is put off by his partners
racism and tries to unsuccessfully to get another partner. Jean, traumatized by the car jacking, has all the locks changed on their house and then insists on doing it again
because she distrusts the Hispanic locksmith. A Persian shop owner has difficulty purchasing a gun because he is taken to be an Arab. The same locksmith, Daniel, attempts to fix
the door to the Persians shop. Graham, another police officer, is having an affair with his partner, Ria, but cannot remember her ethnic origin. In other words, the film concerns
multiple story lines intersecting in such a fashion that they reveal the underlying racial and ethnic prejudice that propels the characters motivation. Themes, issues and analysis : The
underlying assumption of the film is that the interactions between the various groups of people that all live in the L.A. metropolitan area are all defined by racism and that
