areas of concern. The following paper briefly discusses some of the various aspects that make up Hong Kong. Languages "Chinese and English are the official languages of Hong
Kong. Most important documents are printed in both languages. For some documents this is a legal requirement" (LowTax.net, 2003). Another author, however, indicates that "Both English and Cantonese are the
official languages in Hong Kong. The majority of the populations are native Cantonese speakers" (Marimari.com, 2003). Interestingly enough, there is also a trend in terms of the young people using
English words mixed with the native language. "As they have been raised in a bilingual society, they tend to leap from one language to another, sometimes without realizing it. At
times, it is easier to just incorporate English words in the language rather than to translate complicated words into Cantonese" (Marimari.com, 2003). We also note that "Mandarin is now becoming
more common in Hong Kong. It is not to say that whomever speaks Cantonese can automatically speak Mandarin as well" (Marimari.com, 2003). Religions As is becoming more and
more common in most countries throughout the world, Hong Kong possesses people of almost all religious faiths. However, also as is the case with most countries, there are predominant religions.
With Hong Kong we note that there are "three main religions/ways of life: Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism. Hong Kong has approximately six hundred temples, monasteries and shrines which are mainly
