across the nation. In many respects California may well be the most powerful and influential state concerning plastic surgery and this is likely due to the nature of California thinking,
and the California culture, especially as seen by the rest of the nation. The following paper examines cosmetic/plastic surgery in California, examining three main reasons for getting surgery, all of
which indicate how deeply concerned Californians are when it comes to their appearance. It should be noted that when speaking of California the focus is on Southern California.
Cosmetic Surgery in California First, while everyone is well aware that they will only get older, and utilizing creams and such are a simple way to hold back the aging
process, many people in California want to do more than slow the process, they want to stop it or turn it back and as such they seek out plastic surgery
to look as young as they can in a California/american youth culture. Women who have had children want to turn back the clock and look younger, women and men want
to essentially look younger than they are because in Southern California age is not considered attractive. Even men are turning to cosmetic surgery for this, and other reasons, of late.
Second, while many people love living in California and try to look as Californian as they can through dress and attitude, many
