natural environment, and on human activities including agriculture, over the next century or so." The moral implications of humanitys contribution to global warming are vast. One side of the
argument in respect to environment has to do with the idea that businesses will simply do the right thing in the long run and that the environment is not in
danger anyway. People like Rush Limbaugh scoff at the notion that the environment is in danger at all. Rather, people are making too much of nothing. The other side of
the coin is that if the environmentalists are right, the planet is in danger and many believe that the people have a responsibility to future inhabitants. Whether an unregulated
market would eliminate it is questionable. Again, one has to rely on large corporations to do the right thing. This seems to be recognized in that although there is free
trade for example, there are treaties that do limit trade and create sanctions as it relates to environmental concerns. Theorists like Adam Smith suppose that free trade will to an
extent take care of everything. The market will correct itself. Allowing trade without restrictions will create a world that is a better place. People will invent things and invoke creativity
and so, in the end, all will be well. However, while in theory, one can say that the free market will work well enough to correct problems, the reality seems
