Bogat (1994) provide an overview of the existing findings in the current literature that outline the impact of social support. The researchers argue initially that the current literature reflects
a number of different perspectives on social support and that the views are sometimes contradictory. More particularly, these researchers consider the influence of social support in stressful situations and
the way in which social resources are accessed by individuals. Because of the inconsistent nature of the current literature, though, the researchers focused on attempting to determine other factors
that influence coping in stressful situations and the access to social support, including cultural differences, and differences in the way researchers measure social support. Liang and Bogat (1994) introduce
the view of the impact of "buffering" elements like culture and the specific nature of social support for an individual in relation to personal stressors. This article provides some

of a family culture. This study relates an overview of social networks and family support in different cultures, including Anglo-American and Asian families, demonstrating that different national cultures and
ethnicity can impact the view of social networks. As a result, this can be generalized and applied to the study of a man of Italian ethnic decent and the
plausible differences in culture, family and coping strategies that may appear as a result of variations in social networks. This study also provides a point of reference for concepts
like stress, coping and social networking. Florian, V., Mikulincer, M., Bucholtz, I. (1995, November). Effects of adult attachment style on the perception and search for social support.
