society. As technology has progressed it has been predicted that there is movement towards convergence culture; were old and new technologies converge. The way in which this occurs is subject
to debate. It is possible to see a high level of convergence in many areas of life, looking at the example of a single game; Call of Duty 4, this
is a game which has been released in several different games platforms, in addition to this is a separate game with the same name has been released to use a
mobile telephones. The idea of culture convergence and the different approaches can be examined by looking at the way in which Call of Duty 4 has been developed and is
utilised. Call of Duty is a franchise of games that have proved very popular in the past. The main platforms for the games are the gaming machine; Xbox 360, Playstation
3 and PCs (Parkyn, 2007). The game is designed around a traditional format; a first person shooting game. World War II shooting games have been popular some time, but in
