information, the consultant will gain indirect information from the interviewees nonverbal language (Martin, 2000). The advantage with interviews is the amount of information that can be obtained, often, information about
the underlying problems the consultant may not be able to obtain in any other way. The disadvantage of interviews is that they are very time-consuming (Martin, 2000). They take time
to conduct and twice as much time to write up to determine what the problems are (Martin, 2000). Barrett (2005) reported on the importance of consultation approach when nurse practitioners
interviewed patients. Medical appointments begin with an interview, in this case, the nurse practitioner interviewing the patient to determine the reason for the patients visit (Barrett, 2005). Barrett identified different
ways in which patients self-present, for example, Seekers who are seeking treatment, Confirmers who are checking the severity of their illness, Clinical Presenters who provide a clinical history, and Seekers
to Confirmers who begin as Seekers but during the process, change to Confirmers and Anticipators who anticipate the need for treatment (p. 329). Barrett found that nurse practitioners respond
to patients with the voice of nursing, meaning "they respond to patient dialogues with both the everyday subjectivity of the voice of the lifeworld and the scientific objectivity of the
