they sang hymns, read passages of Scripture and partook in the sacrificial meal of the Last Supper (Ludy, 1926). They also congregated in cemeteries to celebrate the anniversaries of the
deaths, often of those who were martyred, in the name of Christ (Ludy, 1926). Some believe that it was these cemetery celebrations that led to the construction of simple chapels
in the cemeteries and at the entrances of the catacombs (Ludy, 1926). As Christianity began to spread, especially after the early part of the 4th century, a new type of
construction was born, what is sometimes called "culted construction" (www.CaucasianHistory.ORG, 2002). It was a new type of architecture, that devoted itself, in some cases, to the design and construction of
