they are almost self-explanatory; once we have them, we can see how the concepts relate to each other. "Conflict resolution" is defined as "the process of resolving a dispute or
a conflict permanently, by providing each sides needs, and adequately addressing their interests so that they are satisfied with the outcome" (Conflict resolution, 1998). "Mediation" is a method
of conflict resolution that is carried out by an intermediary who works with the disputing parties to help them improve their communication and their analysis of the conflict situation, so
that the parties can themselves identify and choose an option for resolving the conflict that meets the interests or needs of all of the disputants (Mediation, 1998).
Mediation differs from arbitration in that the mediator doesnt make the final decision, but helps the two sides design their own solution (Mediation,
1998). Finally, "negotiation" is "bargaining. It is the process of discussion and give-and-take between two or more disputants who seek to find a solution to a common problem" (Negotiation, 1998).
