transmitted diseases. Utilizing the approach of concept analysis, this paper clarifies the relativity of condom use to a number of aspects of our lives. It specifically isolates the questions of concept, details the process of finding right answers, present model cases (including relative
cases, borderline cases, and contrary cases) and discusses the concept in social context. The clinical implications to nursing are detailed.

Introduction Everyone has heard the joke about how during the Cold War a major U.S. firm received an order from Russia
for condoms. The Russians had specified in their order that the condoms be sixteen inches long and three inches in diameter. Perplexed by the meaning of the order,
the firm contacted the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) as to how to proceed. After much deliberation the DOD directed that the order be filled. They specified one
minor change, however. That was that each of the condoms that were manufactured include a stamp specifying their size. The DOD directed that that stamp read "Medium".
The order was promptly filled and neither the DOD nor the manufacturing firm received any further correspondence regarding the matter from Russia. This joke is just one reflection
