similar plot line in light of the fact that every time in history has its particular style of literature. There are styles that reflect the gothic era and styles that
reflect the romantic era. The following paper examines to apparently French pieces of literature. The paper compares and contrasts these two stories whose titles are unknown to this writer in
light of the fact that that stories were faxed, not in their entirety, by the student requesting this paper. The pages cited will be those pages apparent from the text
faxed. Two Stories In the first story whose main character appears to be Madame Shumann, we have a woman who is obviously employed as a very famous and
powerful singer, perhaps an opera singer. She is a very powerful woman in her own right it seems but also a lonely woman. She married her mentor and he lives
off of the funds that she makes with her singing, thinking "he had already done quite enough for his wife and the world in the placing and the training of
that voice" (336). As such this woman, Madame Shumann, lives on the road and lives a relatively lonely life it seems. The second story also has a woman who is
a famous singer, a woman who appears also quite lonely and powerful. Her name is Madame Tradutorri and she suffers at the hands of her loneliness it seems, just as
does Madame Shumannn. Their profession and their lonely lives are surely one powerful similarity. Another similarity lies in the fact that they both have taken on a maiden of sorts
for various reasons. Madame Shumann takes in Toinette in order to save her from the chorus, perhaps a position that would make her life one that was perhaps similar to
