family, Whiteclouds appears very pastoral and perfect in most respects. But, at the same time there are some similarities in the stories. The following paper compares and contrasts the two stories. Comparison and Contrast: Pinter and Whitecloud Pinters story is a play. Whiteclouds is a short story. In this they are clearly different for each style of storytelling is very different. And to further emphasize this difference Pinters is clearly a story filled with dialogue while Whiteclouds there is no dialogue at all. It is a quiet and introspective story told from the perspective of the author, being in first person narrative style. In light of these two obvious elements, format and narrative, these two stories are incredibly different. As it pertains to the story line itself they are also incredibly different. In Whiteclouds story the focus is on a young man of Native American heritage who is thinking of going home for Christmas, back to his people. Whitecloud himself is from a heritage that is linked to the same region (New Orleans Museum of Art). It is a beautiful story about the simplicity of his people and the depth of his people as he makes his way home, wondering if they will accept him. He comes home to beauty, serenity, love and happiness. In the case of Pinters story there is a family comprised of five men and then one of the mens wife. They have come together, a sort of homecoming, in London and they are incredibly bitter and angry men. The one mans wife becomes a sexual object for all the men it would seem, and she is seemingly content with that. She abandons her husband and her children in the United States to remain in London and act as a prostitute, working for ...
