They are all three religions that are often referred to as Abrahamic religions in that they are founded, in one way or another, on the existence of Abraham who exists in all three of the religions texts. The following paper compares and contrasts these three religions as it involves their texts and their origins. Comparison and Contrast: Judaism, Christianity and Islam As mentioned, all three religions are considered Abrahamic religions, which is something that involves both their texts and their origins. They believe, through texts (Hebrew Scriptures, the Christian Bible and Quran), that human beings exist as the highest creature on earth and that all people are children of Abraham. Through the texts each religions has elements that can be seen in positive and negative ways. For example, all religious texts present the individual with how humans can be capable of doing good or evil, how traits and characteristics such as love and forgiveness are sacred and illustrate how the one God can be worshipped through such traits. "Each person is capable, with Gods help, to turn away from evil, repent, and do good. We owe God our devotion, glorification, and obedience" (Robinson, 2011). These are all elements within each religion. At the same time the textual elements are often interpreted by various sects of each religion in different ways, leading to some religious sects that are considered to be fanatical. This is generally something that is more often connected with Christianity and Islam than it is with Judaism, although there are many different sects within Judaism as well. But, with the Christians and the Islamic followers there seems to be a tendency for some followers to become less than kind ...
