films Inside Man and Bourne Ultimatum the main characters are not necessarily the type of character the audience assumes they are. The following paper examines the characters comparing and contrasting
them and their journeys within the films. Comparison/Contrast in Film: Inside Man and Bourne Ultimatum What makes the two films very different, right from the start, as they
involve the main characters is that Inside Man is a single film unto itself while Bourne Ultimatum is the third film in a series about the character Jason Bourne. Bourne
is essentially a man who, in the first film, was not aware of his past and who he was. His journey in the films involves his trying to uncover the
truth about who he is and at times he discovers that he may well be a "bad guy" although the audience sees him as a very good guy with noble
actions. As one author notes, "Bourne (Matt Damon) is determined to retrieve his memory this time around, so as to learn the identity he had before placing his skills at
the service of the agency" (McCarthy). Both films offer up an individual that is, in one way or another, presumed to be a bad guy, a guy who has,
in one way or another, gone against the law and done things for their own interest. In Inside Man the viewer, at first, simply sees the character of Russell as
a bank robber, a man who is a criminal. In Bourne Ultimatum the viewer continually gets hints that Bourne is a man who needs to be eliminated for what he
