Pearl Harbor attack. In each case, Americans have unwittingly become the tragic victims of massive plots against us, in vast numbers and with no warning. The inevitable comparisons
are tragic in their result, and systematic in their detail, reminding us of our vulnerability despite our political, economic and military position in the world.
The tragic events of 9/11 serve as a potent foil to the events that transpired at the attack on Pearl Harbor. Since America was
the victim in both instances, we realize the actual consequences of our unprepared state. We were sitting ducks in both instances, and as such, the devastation was massive.
Those victims of Pearl Harbor and 9/11 never stood a chance. They had no way to defend themselves because they had no clue whatsoever that any attack was imminent.
