the role of women in society has changed dramatically, the emergence of the Internet and other forms of communication have truly made this a global economy and technology continues to
change our world on a daily basis. On the other hand, in many ways life hasnt changed much at all. In terms of politics, the players may be different
but the corruption, dishonesty and games are all still the same. Women and minorities continue to fight for equality and countries still fight among themselves and with each other.
In terms of how different things are, The role of women is an interesting place to begin. Women in the 1970s were just beginning to emerge in
the marketplace. Prior to this time most women were mothers and stayed home to care for the children. But, post-World War II changed that scene dramatically and in
the 1970s this was in full swing. Mothers started to work and this began to change the family structure. Divorce rates when up, although this is not necessarily
a direct link to women working. It could also be said that women were becoming more vocal about their needs and less dependent on men for their survival. Womens
lib became quite the rage and Gloria Steinham spoke about issues which many thought were radical, obscene, and downright anti-family. Women began to emerge sexually, spiritually, emotionally, and in
ever other area of their lives. As women worked, earned money, became educated in record numbers, and in other ways gained more exposure to the world, many other facets
of their lives changed. In terms of how womens lives are still the same, today women still have to fight for equality in many areas, although much progress has been
