An empirical study of information system professionals" by Effy Oz, both look at the impact and perception of information technology. The article by Sandeep Krishnamurthy looks at the way in
which e-commerce is increasing in the retail sector and how the increase which is felt by the different participants will be dependant on the perception that they create with their
presentation and behaviour. This article proposes a set of six hypotheses that will increase consumer confidence in undertaking trade with a particular firm, these reflect the different dependable variables on
the independent which is the increase in trade. The presence of these variables are hypothesised as having a positive impact on the retailer, these are easy use, higher levels of
relationship services, the use of more resources, assurances from trusted third parties, larger size of company, and the existence of pre web retailing experience. It is stated that consumers perceive
a risk when undertaking trade by way of e-commerce, this risk is due to the lower level of tangibility, the delay in gratification and for some purchases the inability to
see and feel what they are. These different elements are seen as reassuring and reducing the perceived risk, hence the encouragement to undertake trade with that e-retailer. The hypothesises
for this study may be seen as reasonable as individuals will beware of company reputations and the spending of money is always a proposition that will take careful consideration, dependant
on the perceived risk. Where there is a risk and the amount being spent is low, the risk will be perceived as less important, where the relevant amount is proportionately
