Bredeson and Kose (2007); Emery and Barker (2007); and Wright and Pandey (2010). Similarities in themes The most prominent similarity between the three studies is that each one investigated
some aspect of leadership. The studies conducted by Wright and Pandey (2010) and Emery and Barker (2007) each examine aspects of transformational leadership. As this suggests, these two studies
bear the most resemblance because this common topic. However, the thematic point of this research, regarding all three studies, is to investigate the nature of leadership and the factors that
affect it, in order to determine information that can lead to improved leadership behaviors on the part of management and the resulting effect of promoting optimal employee work performance and
improved job satisfaction. Difference between the themes There are, of course, differences between the way in which each study approached its subject. For example, Wright and Pandey (2010) investigated
how organizational structure affects transformational leadership behaviors as practiced by municipal chief administrative officers. However, Emery and Barker (2007) investigated which mode of leadership, transformational or transactional, can be correlated
with positive employee attitudes. As this indicates, Wright and Pandey focused primarily on the organizational structure in determining the effect of transformational leadership and Emery and Barker focused on the
