the seven dimensions of culture; outcome orientation, people orientation, team orientation, aggressiveness, stability, attention to detail and innovation, these dimensions provide a useful approach for comparison in terms of different
companies. For example, it is possible to compare the technology company Apple Inc with the Irish Health service Executive (HSE), utilising some of these aspects of culture. The three elements
to be discussed are outcome orientation, aggressiveness and attention to detail. The outcome orientation looks at the extent to which management focuses on results rather than the processes which are
used to obtain those results. It may be argued that Apple has a very high outcome orientation; this may be seen in a number of practices as seen in the
organisation. One important part of the recent strategy has been the launch and expansion of the Apple stores. These are stores where the Apple culture is communicated to customers, and
customers have the ability to try out products, as well as obtain training, often provided free of charge. Furthermore, they can bring in Apple products where they have problems, in
order to gain support from the staff. The focus is on the technology, walking to stored is not even possible to see a counter or till, only desks and tables
with the products (Apple, 2012). The differentiation is based on a premium product, the premium service, but the emphasis is on the outcome has been seen with recent cost-cutting measures,
including significant staffing cuts in the stores, reduction of hours worked. Even the company themselves have acknowledged that in seeking to better the bottom line, they have harmed their sales
