avant-garde period, as well. Pablo Picasso stands out as one of the most recognized artists of the avant-garde period, lending his talents to
bring forth a fresh artistic concept: light. Light is the primary separation that exists between two-dimensional and three-dimensional painting. Through his masterpiece Still Life, Picassos influence helped the
world to understand this relationship through his artistic renderings, serving to stimulate the inherent connection that exists between flat surfaces and tangible formation. That he also was a talented
sculptor speaks to the fact that Picasso was fully capable of translating his two-dimensional canvas technique to the three-dimensional sculpture.
Like
any other international symbol, art strips away the barriers inherent to humanity. Indeed, Picassos Still Life speaks a language unto itself that addresses the communal need for expression.
