appeal to the millions who call it home. A person who resides in Chicago, for example, has a much different living experience than one who lives in New Orleans.
The diversity between these two cities lends them well to comparative analysis because they may well be the most distinctive urban enclaves in the United States. Chicago is the
third largest city in the United States that may have gotten its nickname "the Windy City" from either the constant flow of air from Lake Michigan or is a reference
to the long-winded politicians that have provided much of its colorful history. It is technically considered the Midwest, but few think of wide-open spaces when Chicago comes to mind.
Tall, narrow skyscrapers, concrete sidewalks, and countless highways that feature seemingly endless streams of traffic most often surround those who live there. The term "yuppie" may very well
have been invented to describe the people who both live and work in Chicago. It is the perfect home for young urban professionals because in Chicago, business reigns supreme.
There are numerous transportation, commerce, and financial conglomerates, and deals can be made in boardrooms, elevators, subways, or on street corners. Those who live in Chicago not only
work hard but play just as hard, too. It is a proud sports city that is home to two professional baseball teams (the Cubs and the White Sox), footballs
Bears, basketballs Bulls, and hockeys Blackhawks. While attending sporting events, fans are most likely to be snacking on deep-dish pizza, which is a Chicago specialty. Living in Chicago
