Such is the case with Judaism, Christianity and Islam, where even though the three religions appear quite diverse, they share quite a few collective properties.
It can be said that of all the religions of the world, Islam has the most in common with the Western faiths of Judaism and Christianity.
For the most part, Westerners do not understand the completeness and universitality of Islam, tending to believe that it is a "grim and stern faith, given to forcible conversions, appalling
treatment of women and to hatred of modern ways" (Levins 01B). Indeed, Islam may be one of the most difficult religions of all to accept as it has been
represented throughout the centuries, yet those whose lives revolve around the study of religion claim that such narrow-minded views of the Islam faith fail to recognize all the many ideals
that it shares with Judaism and Christianity. At the very basic element, Islam, Judaism and Christianity share a common bond with regard to
the manner by which they worship only one god. Unlike so many other religions that divide their devotion among several gods, Judaism, Christianity and Islam focus their attention and
worship upon just one -- and they glorify the same god, at that. It is curious that while it may appear on the outside that these three faiths could
not be any further apart in their belief systems, they actually do pay homage to one and the same Supreme Being (Levins 01B). As a people, Jews, Christians and
followers of the Islam faith are bound by the very same convictions, in that they are to posses honesty, respectfulness, charity, kindness and all the other benevolent traits so common
