with the Politic Foundation in Washington, DC, is one of the nations leading geographic profilers of criminal behavior (Ren). According to Rossmo, there are certain sections of Seattle, Washington where
there is a registered sex offender living in every square mile. According to Rossmo, a rapist or serial killer will probably not strike unless the criminal sees his victim first
(Ren). Therefore, Rossmo recommends taking the simple precaution of lowering or closing ones blinds as a safety precaution. Rossmo stressed that geographic profiling can only help police narrow the number
of suspects and it cannot provide definitive identification of criminals responsible for specific offenses. Rossmo states, "Geographic profiling cannot solve crimes...(but) it can prioritize the suspects for detectives" (Ren). Rossmo
