which is what some Israelites practiced prior to Moses (Polytheism.net, 2009). Typically, polytheistic religions identify gods by function and at times, the people assign human characteristics to these gods (Polytheism.net,
2009). In the ancient world, pagans practiced polytheism but these types of religions exist today. Examples include Taoism, Shintoism, Buddhism, tribal religions in Africa and other regions in the world
(Polytheism.net, 2009). We must not confuse and misunderstand the nature of the Holy Trinity in Christianity. There are not three separate gods as many would say, there is but One
Holy God. As the Catechism of the Catholic Faith says, the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the absolute central and core mystery of the Christian faith itself (para
234). This Mystery is so profound that the limitations of the human mind do not allow understanding. That is what faith is about - accepting as true something that cannot
be seen and that cannot even be explained satisfactorily. Understanding the Holy Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, is so confusing that most Christians
do not even attempt to explain it. You either believe or you dont. The Doctrine of the Holy Trinity evolved over many years and it was not until the
