the floor..." ("Stop" PG). Police brutality is a serious problem. Other finds on the net concern community policing. While it is a relatively recent concept in fighting crime, some do
not know exactly what it is . According to Bob Trojanowicz community policing is a philosophy of full-service, personalized policing where familiar officers work local areas on a somewhat permanent
basis ("Community" PG). In other words, instead of giving a variety of officers different shifts and schedules, police officers adopt communities as their own. This way, the people become familiar
with them. Each can comprehend the others needs and this seems to work well just as the old fashioned pharmacist or doctor who made house calls. It should also not
be forgotten that community policing is a part of U.S. history. The old beat cop was a stereotype, particularly in the cities. While the concept of community policing is good,
has it helped? After all, stories of police brutality continue to surface despite positive changes reported in policing overall. One way that community policing would help of course is in
respect to erroneous shootings. Sometimes an officer believes he is in danger when he is not due to the stance of the suspect. Many incidents of violence occur. If officers
