that Amnesty International has played in the world picture for decades. Amnesty International is an organization that describes itself as a "worldwide human rights movement," one that exists separate
of governmental control and does not represent any specific special interest groups, religious organizations or political entities. The underlying purpose of Amnesty International is to work for the "release
of persons in over 100 countries, imprisoned for reasons of conscience, provided they have neither advocated nor used violence, and for the abolition of torture and the death penalty" (Amnesty
International Canada, 2008). At times of war, during great levels of international politicking, organizations like Amnesty International look at human rights violations and their impacts on both the people
and governments involved. Because there are prisoners unrelated to war in more than 100 countries, the use of an organization unconnected with specific governments or political views is beneficial
in addressing the problem. Amnesty International uses a variety of methods to support their cause and create effective communications. Amnesty International uses local, regional and national advertising campaigns to
seek out fiscal and practical support for their efforts, while also using direct contact methods to expand their base of operation and improve their capacity for change. One of
the key factors in producing positive change via Amnesty International is the use of a multicultural face, one that is not simply representative of a single country or culture, but
