people know some of the basic differences: universities are four-year institutions while community colleges grant Associates degrees attained after two years of schooling. Universities tend to be larger and many
have been in existence far longer than the community colleges; they are also significantly more expensive. The choice for graduating high school students can depend on several things. First, each
individual is different, and some students have a great deal of difficult with high school while others go through with little or no trouble. For those who want to move
on to higher education but are uncertain about their abilities and have had some problems in high school, a community college may be a better choice than a university ("University
vs. Community College"). These students "may not feel that they have a firm enough grasp of high school material or possibly the grades to allow them to gain admission to
a university program" and succeed in it ("University vs. Community College"). For students like this, a community college may allow them to "continue their education and strengthen their educational foundations"
