In short, communities represent hope, spirit, wholeness, compassion, patience and self-discipline while aggregates reflect urgency, want, unadulterated appetite and self-indulgence. As the community takes into account that what happens to one also happens to the whole, an aggregate is assembled by heterogeneous people for the sole purpose of gleaning a specific goal. these layers shift or otherwise fall apart, it sets the stage for transition into an uncaring, antisocial aggregate. The further that two layers are from each other, the less
effective and even threatening they are to one or the other on the grounds of unfamiliarity, cultural disparity and a distance that leads to increasing indifference and even xenophobic hostility
(Watson, 2001). Criminals are one example of an aggregate population whose only motivating factor is self-satisfaction through whatever means necessary. For those who are not criminally-minded, it may
