are many techniques that can be used in order to improved non verbal communication. These are important as they can be recognised on a conscious or a subconscious level by
the receiver of the communication and can either reinforce, contradict or communicate independently of the verbal communication. In every aspect of everyday life we all will respond to hundreds of
non verbal communications. We can look at ten of these how we should and should not use non verbal communications in order to enhance communications, increasing the positive and decreasing
the negative. 1. The use of eye contact. By establishing and maintaining eye contact there is a positive effect with engenders trust and a feeling of confidence in what is
being said. Where eye contact is not made the receiver of the communication is getting mixed or negative signals, when an individual is not being truthful they ,ay look away
and avoid making eye contract, This is not the only reason, shyness may also cause this effect. However the implication is that direct eye contact is a very positive non
verbal communication tool and can be very powerful that will give the receiver confidence as well as giving credibility to the communicator. 2. Posture is also an important element of
non verbal communication. The way an individual sits or stands and places their hands will result in non verbal messages being sent. To improve non communication posture can be used
to create a more positive situation. To show interest posture should be leaning forward, but o invading the receivers personal space, open direct posture which is alert and sitting or
