will be most effective. If we consider the lifecycle of a project then different types of communication will be required at different stages. The first stage is the concept sage. It is likely that this will be an initial concept based on tacit rather than explicit knowledge, this is a concept that will need input form knowledge gained though experiential learning and independent thinking (Nonaka and Takeuchi, 1999). This will then need to be communicated. The initial concept may be communicated form the thinker to another individual. The range of methods here is wide. Tools such as letters and email which are one to one communication may be seen for the initial approach. However, there will also need to be direct communication, preferably face to face, but possibly only vocally (Stanton, 2003). It is likely that the communication will be informal at the beginning of the concept stage of this is an idea that is being touted. For this to move forward from the concept stage, regardless of what type pf concept the idea will need to be communicated to others who can help with the development. This may involve the use of written communication such as memos or emails to introduce the idea, however it is more likely to be undertaken with a multicast communication in a direct manner, such as a presentation (Asia Africa Intelligence Wire, 2003). This is also likely to be in the form of simplex, where there is a message being communicated unilaterally, there is the idea being presented and no chance for feedback in these initial stages.
