Superficially, that definition would be easy for the "simple" to understand. When the focus is narrowed, however, it seems that the concept of morality grays in its boundaries. Morality is not only the black and white that the "simple" so seemingly effortlessly can see, with that clear line of demarcation between it and immorality. Focus is increasingly narrowed in our harried lives of today, but all of us are charged with keeping vigilance on the level of standard we will tolerate. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

less time in which to do it-expeditious accomplishment can often win out over that honestly done, and often without any hesitation or second thought on the part of the one
simply trying to accomplish a task in order to move on the to the next. Always, always, though, we must keep the plumb line in front of us, regularly
using it as a measure of personal performance and action. So where do we find the plumb line? Who sets the standard? Though we have taken twists and
turns over the years that in many areas leave the original intent unrecognizable, the standard for accepted norms of morality on which our Constitution was set can be found in
Exodus 20:1-17, more commonly known as the Ten Commandments. In essence, the message is: honor God; honor your parents; dont kill; dont commit adultery; dont steal; tell the
truth. Six very simple, very basic principles that people in general should be able to handle without too much difficulty. In reality, however, gray areas come into light on
which no one can agree. For murder, we have a much-contested federal death penalty. The most mean-spirited advocate execution of sentence without benefit of trial in the most
clear-cut of cases; the most liberal among us maintain that the death penalty has been proven to be ineffective at deterring further violent crime including murder, and so we should
