psychological makeup; the physiological conditions of a person with the defect, and the way the colorblind perceive the world. Causes of Colorblindness Colorblindness is "typically a genetic condition"
and is found more often in men than in women; approximately one in 12 men has some degree of difficulty perceiving color (Causes of color: appearance). Colorblindness can also
be the result of disease, aging, or injury, though this is much less common (Causes of color: appearance). Although it is not true colorblindness, aging causes the cornea of
the eye to become yellowed, which severely limits the ability of the elderly to see blues and violets (Causes of color: appearance). Impact of Colorblindness on Psychology and Physiology
Colorblindness can pose problems in certain contexts; driving and being unable to comprehend the signals is the example that commonly comes to mind. But other than that and
similar situations, the psychological impact of colorblindness seems minimal. However, when it is present, it manifests itself as discomfort or sensitivity about the condition. One example comes from a
college class in which the students were supposed to do a study of color as used in supermarket packaging; when the assignment was given "one student approached one evening, and
