health care industries, and the education system. As an example of the value that an innovative training program can bring to an organization, this paper will explore the application of
cognitive coaching as a training approach within the realm of education. This paragraph helps the student to explain cognitive coaching to set up the rest of the paper. As the
name suggests, cognitive coaching is rooted in cognitive psychology, which asserts that human behaviors manifest as a result of predictable cognitive patterns. While it is a gross oversimplification of cognitive
psychology to say that "positive" cognitive patterns produce good behaviors and vice versa, the premise does hold that the content and nature of ones cognitive patterns has a strong influence
over resulting behavior. This is one reason why cognitive therapy has been instrumental in the treatment of anxiety disorders; as sufferers of anxiety become familiar with the cognitive processes that
support their anxious behaviors, they can actively work to subvert those processes. In any kind of cognitive training such as cognitive coaching, this principle remains the same: one desires to
improve behaviors by becoming aware of the content of ones cognitive processes, and then working to gain mastery over those processes and change them as need be. In this case,
