it is not a natural act for teachers. Teaches are accustomed to designing and teaching their own lessons and setting their own schedules. Teaching with another teacher can create anxiety and confusion for both teachers. There are many activities that teachers can use that will make this process easier, more comfortable, and more successful. Co-teachers must decide together what a lesson is going to focus on and how that will be presented in the classroom. In other words, they are going to have to meet together. Just as they prepare their lessons, they must prepared for their joint meeting. To be productive, meetings need to have an agenda and this is true for the co-teachers. Both teachers need to determine when and where they will meet, the purpose and goal(s) for the meeting, the agenda, what they each need to do prior to the meeting, and what they each need to bring to the meeting (Ploessi et al. 161). Preparation for the meeting will increase its productivity and effectiveness. Each meeting should result in achieving at least one goal or making one decision. The authors identify different types of talk/conversation that can be used in the meeting. Relationship conversation is about sharing personal things about each other. Opportunity talk is about discussing the choices that are available to meet the goals. Possibility talk is about plans and visions. Action talk is about behaviors to be performed. Follow-up talk is for determining if goals were achieved (Ploessi et al. 161). Co-teachers can determine which type of conversation will be used for the meeting.
