by the history of ancient people. Aside from the pyramids of Egypt, this particular area serves as a magical and mystical spot for many. So, whether an individual is just
an adventuresome traveler who enjoys visiting places of the past, or whether an individual is a serious adventurer, who loves climbing, the area of Chichen Itza offers a great deal.
The following paper examines what a climber may experience by visiting this spot and climbing the pyramid known as El Castillo. El Castillo It is perhaps important to note
that most people who actually climb this wondrous pyramid are not climbers. This indicates that the pyramid is not a difficult climb, or not a difficult climb in the mind
of a serious climber. This is because the climb consists of stairs. Granted the stairs are particularly steep, but it is not a climb that requires special equipment or requires
special knowledge of climbing. It is merely a very steep and often tiring climb, especially for the inexperienced climber. In light of this the climb itself up El Castillo
would not prove challenging for a serious climber, or even a novice climber who is working on their skills. What it does offer is a powerful experience in terms of
view and in terms of sensing the history of a people. It is not the climb, but the place and the history that seems to truly draw people and make
the climb a very rewarding and powerful one. What makes this particular pyramid fascinating is the fact that it resides in Mexico, not in Egypt, and that it symbolizes
