carrier airline company is one that is both essential for business and leisure due to the location of the firm and one that is a prominent New Zealand firm operating
in a global environment. To consider the way that climate change is impacting and is impacted by Qantas the first stage is to assess the way in which there
is a link between Qantas operations and climate change, and then look at the way sin which it is being tackled and how it is impacting on operations. Qantas
is a well known airline. Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd (QANTAS), began in 1920 as a small company with aircraft that could only take a few passengers and
has developed into a company which in 1958 pioneered round the world services, in 1959 was the first company that was not American to take on Boeing 707s into their
fleet (Qantas, 2010). In a recent study it has been estimated that when all of the pollutants from aircraft are considered their impact is felt by 70% of the
population were effected to a significant level (Saporito, 2001). The emissions made are also those that are seen to cause longer term
damage to the ozone layer. The emission may also have an impact on the climate of the earth either directly or indirectly. Directly this includes the emission of Carbon Dioxide
