The way that the firm performs in terms of sales level and revenues will depend on a number of factors, these will include the way that the product is developed
and how it fits in with market needs as well as elements of the marketing mix, such as the 4 Ps of product, placement price and promotion. When looking at
each of the periods that the product has been marketed there are mixed results, and the tea, appear to learn from their mistakes made early in the exercise. The first
period demonstrates poor performance levels, but there are improvements over the subsequent periods which demonstrate market share is regained. To consider the performance each period will be considered individually.
2. Period 1 When examining the performance of the company during this first period the marketing mix may be used as a framework less examination. With a loss of $85,332 it
is apparent that the company is doing something wrong, especially when his peers at other firms are successfully marketing and making profits in the same market. When looking at the
marketing mix the 4 Ps can be effectively utilized. As already noted, the first of these Ps is the product. When looking
at the product it is important to consider the markets into which it will be sold (Kotler and Keller, 2008). If the company itself is not created and market and
the firm is competing with other companies in the same markets it is important that the product being sold has the characteristics which are needed, or wanted, by the target
market. It may be that one of the first mistakes made during this first period is the way in which the product was designed.
