especially if they had read the book ; The Clash of Civilizations that was written by Samuel P Huntington and published in the summer of 1993. Huntington was in
a position to be able to write such a controversial book due this is academic and professional standing, as the A professor at Harvard University, with his title in
of the Science of Government at Harvard University this book was seen by some as rationalising racism and by others as a warning of what may occur if the political
scenarios that had been followed as a result of the political paradigms that had been followed for the past forty years were to continue. To book was close on the
heels of an article that had created an equal level of controversy. The main point of this book can b seen as
the way that cultures are depicts and foreseen as able to clash. This is something far more fundamental to the human psyche. History tells us many wars are created not
by economic necessity or by political idealism, but those that are long running are often tinged with religious or cultural elements that cannot be overcome through negotiation alone. The
hypothesis of the book can be summed up in a single paragraph; " the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic.
