war after another. This phenomena can be observed in both western and eastern countries. The reasons for it is two-fold and relates both to economic and political subjugation
and to the strong sense of nationalism that has emerged since World War II. Nationalism is the strong expression of an ideology. This ideology varies, of course, according
to the culture under consideration. Indeed, it is the very diversity of nationalistic premises which has shaped the face of the world as we see it today. One
cultural group after another has risen up to proclaim themselves a nation in a national liberation movement which has escalated over time. The typical scenario is that various factions
within a larger country engage in a civil war in order to break themselves loose from that larger countrys control. An equally important factor in the rise of civil
war is the economic and societal destitution that is being felt by the worlds more destitute peoples. The heightened tendency that
we have seen in regard to the outbreaks of civil wars since World War II can, in many cases be traced back to the end of World War I.
This was a war which affected the entire world. It was a war which centered on nationalistic ideology. World War II and the Nazism which it centered
around would be soon to follow and it too would have long lasting retributions on the world. The events that unfolded in World War II, however, were not the
result of civil unrest but rather the intent on some people to subjugate others. This, of course, became an important factor in the civil wars that would unleash themselves
