that all legal paths were followed and sufficient time was spent waiting for the authorities to step in, then it can readily be argued that Mohammed was most certainly acting
on the communitys behalf when he set fire to the crack house. Does this make him a vigilante - a dangerous example for others to follow - or should
he be viewed as an exasperated individual who was left with no other option but to resort to civil disobedience? The fact that Mohammed took every precaution to make
sure no one would get hurt - even those who illegally occupied the house in the first place - demonstrated his ability to separate vigilantism from civil disobedience, in that
his objective was not to inflict harm but rather to remove the catalyst for drug activity. Is that not what resides at the foundation of every anti-drug campaign -
to rid society of known drug action? If so, then how can Mohammed be morally or ethically punished for doing what the authorities should have done all along? For
all his efforts - as well as his honesty and diligence with regard to the situation - Mohammed should be heralded more as a hero than a criminal. The
