affectively deal with the problems they encounter. In making any decisions, based on morality and ethics, Christians generally rely on their faith. But, at the same time there can be,
and are, many different approaches a Christian can take when addressing these issues. The following paper examines the eschatological approach and the incarnational approach to making decisions involving living a
moral and ethical life. Christian Ethics In discussing the topic at hand it is important to first briefly define the two
approaches being examined. While most people simply assume that faith is just that, faith, there are ways to approach ones faith. In the eschatological approach faith is approached from a
perspective that responds actively to evil and Christian faith becomes a redemptive response. With incarnational the faithful utilizes their reason, which is created and informed by their faith, in dealing
with the issues. It becomes clear that truly rationalizing ones faith in approaching ethical and moral decisions can be incredibly complex, although it is likely that most people simply
believe in a particular way and live their lives without ever truly examining if their approach is one or the other, or both.
In looking at the Bible, and better understanding ones approach, it appears as though John possesses something of a "present eschatology, which grounds the love commandment in the missions
of the Son from the Father and the disciples from the Son" (Tope, 1995). But, at the same time another school of thought arrived, the Johannine school which created a
new tradition of love, that separated ethics and eschatological Christology (Topel, 1995). But, overall it seems that in the foundation of the eschatological approach lies within love, which is clearly
