numerous artists, many well known, who are constantly developing new and inspiring religious pieces of artwork, proving that Christian art is still alive and thriving and still a very powerful
form of spiritual expression. With this in mind the following paper examines Christian art today. Christian Art Today In examining contemporary Christian art we first look at one
artists, Paul Myhill. Myhill (2004) states, in regards to his work, "Call it modern, contemporary, abstract, or expressionistic art. It doesnt matter" One can "Call it biblical, sacred, religious or
spiritual art. It doesnt matter" Myhill (2004) states that what does matter "is the conviction or reflection caused as a result." He indicates that in Christian art one finds true
comfort, "a sense of home" and that is perhaps one of the most important spiritual messages in Christian art (Myhill, 2004). In further examining this particular perspective Myhill asks,
"How many times have you pondered the simple form of the cross and found peace and familiarity there, a place of belonging? How often has a Christian image or symbol
elicited feelings causing you to draw closer to God, to give Him His due praise? And, yes, do you believe that the Spirit can use simple Christian imagery to initially
draw people to Him also, to start the process of redemption?" Such images, or messages, are often found hidden in such artwork as Myhills. And "Christian art can make the
invisible visible to a lost and hurting world and to a church in need of encouragement...These symbols have power....the power to spark spiritual conversations; the power to promote worship; the
