the impacts of play in specific areas as they influence curricular development. Some of the major themes and concepts that are a part of this research paper include:
early childhood growth and development; identifying physical and learning elements related to play; the correlation between play and social and physical development; the strategies for integrating play with varied learner
populations; and creating effective methods for addressing concerns regarding learner process with parents. Introduction The role of play in the development of social, physical and literacy skills has been
noted by a range of researchers, who have argued in favor of developmentally appropriate play as a component of early childhood education curriculum (See Bjorklund & Brown, 1998; Saracho, 2004;
Uren & Stagnitti, 2009). The contention is that when children engage in play with other children, they foster skills that enhance developmentally appropriate skills, including skills that can be
used in the educational setting. The belief has emerged that play is not just a means by which children address their own boredom or fill their time; play is
an essential and developmentally appropriate method through which children develop cognitive, social, and physical skills necessary for future learning. Children not only express themselves through play, but they also
