work included his Stages of Psychosocial Development. Their work has had significant influence in social services and in education. These are two of the most often cited theorists when discussing
child or human development. In all three cases, the centers minimized risks and maximized protections for the childrens safety first and also for their developmental progress. All personnel at
all centers were trained in early childhood education theory and practice. They were very alert to what the children were doing, which minimizes accidents. If there was an altercation between
children, an adult stepped in almost immediately to help them solve the conflict. Equipment was in good shape in all centers, which minimized risk. 2-Year Old Diane is
just over 2 years old, 2 years 1 month, to be precise. She is White and comes from a home where both parents work and she has an older brother,
Tom, age 6. Diane was observed between 9:30 A.M. and 11:00 P.M. at her child care center. During these hours, children have free play, structured play and a snack.
